Are you running Windows 2008 SP2? There's a known bug with machines losing their default gateway after a restart. See http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistanetworking/thread/27fd86ad-caad-4698-9032-63550695ee3d, http://www.netsetman.com/support/viewtopic.php?pid=832#p832 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

Not working, unfortunately. The VM looses its gateway address as soon as nlb gets enabled, so no more network for the vm. Environment: 2008 VM on 2008R2 host.

[...] 1. Enabling NLB on a VM Follow this procedure in case you need to enable NLB on a VM running under Hyper-V 2008. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953828 Note that when your VM is running under Hyper-V 2008 R2, you will no longer need to specify a certain MAC. You will only need to check the option to “Enable MAC spoofing”. Follow this link for detailed steps: http://robwhitehouse.com/virtualisation/enable-nlb-in-a-hyper-v-guest/ [...]
